Experience

I have experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), English for Academic Purposes(EAP), College English (English 101/102), English for the Workplace (EWP), business and conversational English, and have taught IELTS testing tutorials. I also have experience teaching and tutoring children and young adults overseas. I have prepared and delivered conference papers and have experience working as a research assistant and teaching assistant for various professors at a university level. I have extensive experience teaching writing and essay construction. I also have experience, and am extremely passionate about, teaching all forms of literature and reading. I have experience teaching dramatic literature sessions at a university level. I have experience and enjoy teaching people from different cultures, ages, religions, and skill levels.

Hobbies

I am a yoga, theatre, and literature enthusiast. I completed a 200 Registered Yoga Alliance teacher training several years ago and have completed various other trainings and taught off an on. I try to see live theatre as often as I can and always have a book in reaching distance. I am also passionate about current events, the environment, and humanitarian issues. I have volunteered offering support for new immigrants. More recently, I have gained experience working in politics and advocating for constituents. I also have two wonderful children and a husband. I believe education is for everyone and that everyone is skilled. I like to spark passion in students by offering flexible, dynamic, and unintimidating learning sessions. My goal is to not only aid my students' understanding of subjects, but also their enjoyment of them.
