Experience

I am a chemical engineering grad with very astute skills in Maths and Science. I am willing to help students in their projects, assignments, reports and home work from Grade 11 up to university level. I am also willing to provide one-on-one tutoring for Grade 9 up to 1st year University Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. These include courses as Kinematics , Work Energy Power, Rotation in Physics, Chemical Equilibrium, Kinetics, Mole calculations in Chemistry and Advanced Functions & Applications as well as Calculus I & II in Mathematics. I have also tutored students who are preparing for the math portions of standardized tests such as the SAT and GRE, and I have also tutored a number of students preparing for the SAIT pre-admission math skills assessment and mathematics and chemistry for some nursing and pharmacy programs. If your course is not mentioned above, please contact me and we can discuss your course! (My expertise spans most physics, chemistry, maths and statistics courses.) I have been tutoring for a couple of years now and have found a great passion for teaching. Being a student myself, I understand the student mindset, the areas where they encounter problems. Also I am very patient and friendly. My fundamental goal is to help my students get to a point where they no longer need my help! This means three things: (1) Bringing the student up to speed on topics they have missed or not understood. I also connect the ideas of physics and math to the broader world, so that there’s more to it than just memorizing and obeying abstract, unmotivated rules. (2) Helping my students with their particular challenges, which may ultimately be nervousness in tests or a difficult relationship with a teacher. Finding solutions to these problems is just as important as understanding the content. For example, I help many students with simple techniques to avoid their most common mistakes when they’re under the pressure of a test. (3) Building confidence and independence. As my students gain knowledge of the basics concepts, I encourage them to figure out their own approaches and gain confidence in their ability to solve their own problems without my instruction. I have worked with leading tutoring firms online and I am a computing aficionado quite proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) & programming languages . With my students I try to build on their foundation so they can succeed in the later years without any help, including mine. I am able to develop ways to re-iterate material for the students to better understand formulas/equations, approaches to problem solving and more.
