Experience
15+ years of experience teaching and tutoring English as a Second Language to adults and children. With a background in education and in Teaching English as a Second Language, lessons are designed to meet your specific needs. I have a strong interest in reading and how reading works and teaching children and adults develop reading skills. My recent experience includes work as a Learning Support Specialist with adults at Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association. Here I provided individualized support to adult English Language Learners (ELLs) I assessed learning strengths and needs, developed learning plans and worked with teachers to implement targeted instructional strategies. I have also taught as an ESL instructor at Bow Valley College in Calgary. Classes taught include literacy to CLB 6.
