May-August 2010 York International Internship
Represented York University as an Intern in Johannesburg, South Africa. Worked at the largest science centre in Africa, Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, creating and performing science shows and explaining science concepts on many topics such as ‘The science of soccer’ (linking soccer to science). Participated in outreach programmes making trips to underprivileged schools teaching students Mathematics and Science at the primary and secondary school level.
• Science Club Facilitator, Special Workshop Developer and Science Fair Judge 2009-2010 Visions of Science Network for Learning (VoSNL)
Part of a team of enthusiastic volunteers that helped run one of VoSNL’s free science clubs (grades 5-8 ages 8-13) in an under-privileged area of the community. Developed a workshop about the brain and nervous system for students and actively participated in a Science Fair by explaining concepts, running experiments and judging models.

HobbiesScience has always been my passion. My love for Biology, Chemistry, Public Health and the Environment are second to my interest in the implementation of Renewable and Sustainable Energy. I am also quite passionate about travel and believe there is no greater experience than appreciating the differences among cultures.
